Just bought a cheap v8 100. Trying to resolve a central locking always automatically locking issue but came across this strange box. I undid the bolt (as I thought it was holding it in) and a couple of relays clicked off and on again.

Very strange - is it an earthing point or somthing? Its in the passenger footwell in front of the fuse box.

Is it OEM or an add-on? Does the cruzer have an extra bonnet lock, maybe? (Mine has one, with an actuator down there and a wire-rod running forward to the lock). Maybe a better pic would do if you don't get a better answer. Year/month of manufacture and market would also help.

Definitely OEM. It the box clips into the fuse box assembly.

I know the bolt does something as when I undid it and the relays clicked off, some of the gauge display stopped working and the brake servo vacuum also stopped working!

Does it have any part or similar numbers on it?
If it does perhaps google will have the answer, I am curious what it does as well.
I do not recall ever seeing one on my 80.

Ive checked the manuals, google images, ihmud, but havent had any luck.

Its certainly a strange one

I've never paid it close attention but I think it's just a junction block.
