hi guys I have a 1992 80 series landcruiser 1fz engine. I'm thinking about turboing it can anyone give me advice, info if it's a good idea? And what would be involved in doing this. Thanks

To what I've been told it takes more than bolting a turbo on from a 1-HDT motor and manifold. 1-HDT is direct injection with different pistons and the 1HZ is indirect injection. They may be more to this process I'm sure there are mechanic shops there in OZ that specialise in these upgrades worth researching.
Worth asking and joining if not already a member of - 4WD 4x4 80 series Toyota landcruiser worldwide buy / swap / sell / brag oz on Facebook.

This subject is a common one talked about.

All the best

Pre-95 is an issue, I have a 94 and I know it creates problems, OBD 1 and other stuff, the turbo 1fz group on Facebook has a lot of info on their pinned post.

Sorry I should of said 1fz 4.5lt petrol.
Iv seen kits on the internet for the 1fz I no I can't just bolt it on and off I go. I really just want the old girl to have some get up and go lol I was even thinking about putting a Barra in it. Would a supercharger be the best way to go if any one has some info to what would be the best way to go?

I think it depends on what sort of use. A supercharger is working as soon as the engine is turning, so might be better for low speed stuff or towing.

Yea I'm not looking for a race car just want more power and still have a reliable car and don't really want to spend 10k doing it
