i recently installed a 2.5" dobinsons kit and im happy with it. although looking back, i wish i would have went with the heavy springs. with 33x12.5 tires, roof rack, full size spare, winch, and high lift jack all get pretty heavy. when i have some people loaded up in the back the tires rub a bit. Between the new kit and longer shackles, would the only way to lift it up an additional 1-2 inches be to add leafs all the way around? i know the ride wont be as nice, but this is not a DD. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks guys.

Hi Bobby,

We upgraded our rear springs last year, although it wasn't with a Dobinson set as our truck is a Franken-cruiser but it made it a much better ride and no longer suffers from saggy bottom. May I suggest that it might be worth trying a set of 'load assist' springs attached to the rear as these may stop the tyres ribbing when fully loaded but won't affect your existing ride height.

Regards,

Rodger
