Good Evening All. This is the start of many questions so be easy on the new guy! I just purchased a 77 FJ40 here in Nebraska that has not seen the road in 10 years and garaged. Ready for a frame up restoration. New suspension, lift, disc brakes, crated 327SB, etc. The body is in pretty good shape outside of the famous rust areas on the FJ's. Was a slight roll just on the right front fender. I would like to do a new tub and windshield. After visiting numerous sites, need some recommendations on who to contact or purchase body parts from?

Hey Flatlander, I am in the process of restoring my 1972 FJ40. I was lucky and found one that was totally rust free so I do not know where or who on the body parts. But I have been buying my restoration parts from three sources; Cruiser Corps, Spector Off Road, and Cool Cruisers. Primarily from Spector. You can see my progress on this site under this forum member name jlpurcell title of post New Member. Welcome to the site!

Hi and welcome to the forum, FL!

There's a big 40 following in this club, but of course you'll need mostly US replies to your questions for sourcing parts.

There's an unwritten rule of the club to post photos, nobody will believe a word until they see pictures, I think you need 15 or so posts before you can upload photos, so let's hear some more about your plans to help you burn up the numbers!

I also have a 72. Was looking for a jeep and found it. I love it but it needs work. I don't know anything about a fj40. Do you have pics of the interior?

hi,
Tony has given you the main suppliers and below is a fuller list:

Cool Cruisers of Texashttp://coolfj40.stores.yahoo.net/index.html
CrusierParts.Nethttp://www.cruiserparts.net/shop/
Rocky Mountain Cruisershttp://rockym.fatcow.com/store/steel.html
Spectre OffRoadhttp://www.sor.com/
Aquala Industries http://www.aqualu.com/aqualu_industr..._05-08_003.htm
Real Steel http://www.realsteelcruiserparts.net/
Iron Pig Offroad http://www.ironpigoffroad.com/

For the interior parts it has to be Cool Cruisers and Specter Offroad

Re Costa Rica - the body parts that CCoT and others sell are made in Costa Rica by an English guy. I have been going back through the 40 series forum posts as there was a big thread with him sometime ago. When i find it I'll let you know.
