New road tax. Is there an e-petition anywhere?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is an e-petition anywhere against this?
my only real problem against it is if you buy a second hand car the road tax is refunded to the seller for the end of the current month and you the buyer have to pay from the start of the current month. Means two lots of road tax for the same car in the same month. Also believe you have no road tax on car after point of sale. So You will need to take your documents including cover note with you (as MID takes a couple of days to update) and go to the Post office for your new disc. Not so easy on evenings and weekends.

As I see it. Stealth tax and making it harder for the small man who does not buy new cars from the dealer.

letting the tax stay with the car till the end of the month would cause no problems.

Bit late for that I would have thought, it's a done deal by the Government by now?

And....car tax at post offices soon to be a thing of the past. Govt have reneged on guarantee to post office and have brought forward to end of this year the online-only tax scheme.
