A truly sad day for all motorcycle racing fans the world over and so ironic that he loses his life the way he did after years of racing 200mph+ machines, not only winning the world championship in the premier class but becoming one of the most popular and best loved riders in the sport. RIP Nicky.

Wow, I've just clicked on some of the tribute links and they were coming in so fast, over 30 in a matter of seconds.

A sad loss to the sport and a devastating tragedy for his loved ones having to deal with this.

Reports in the Spanish press say that he jumped a stop sighn but sad news all the same.
