Hello guys
My little problem is I had an electrician fix my mirrors to close on my central locking. All went well and I drove my car home but not realiseing my stereo was not lit just thought it was turned off.
May sound stupid but it was sunny and never took much notice of my dash not being lite. I realised when I got home.
Phoned electrician and told him my problem and he said would come fix it today as sounds like a fuse blown.
Today being Saturday he never turned up or I never heard from him and can't get hold of him.
I have checked all the related fuses to the console power but all fuses in the engine compartment are all ok
I can't seem to check the fuse box underneath the dash as it's a bit tight. I have tested what I can reach but still no dash. The fuse box diagram for the drivers footwell box is as below.
Any ideas what fuse might cause this problem.

I wonder if he's (accidentally) disconnected the dashboard brightness control and if that might cause it? Thats on the same panel as the window folding switch, so maybe he was messing around in that area!

No its not that as the dash speedo etc still dim off the switch plus no sound.
My clock above my screen is out my screen is out my stereo were the volume buttons are is out.
The controls for the auto climate, windscreen heaters are still lite and working well just no screen.
Think my best bet is to replace all the 10amp fuses that dont register with my test probe and see how that works.
Fuse for stereo satnav screen is in the engine bay and all are fine and changed fuses anyway.
Thanks for theory karl anyway.

Just for the record I managed to fix my problem. If this happens to you it may help to know that it was fuse (5) in the drivers footwell that turned my satnav screen and stereo off.
The confusion comes when you read what fuse 5 actually does.

Great well done! Doesnt exactly sound like a radio fuse does it!! Wonder what caused it to blow?

Could of happened as the spark was tideing up. Before he went he had to get parts to attach to the loom because the close button on the mirror console conflicts with the close feature on the key.
He has to fit some thing that relates to a one way valve so I can use both the the close, open button on the dash and open, close on the key just he has gone missing with out a tx or phone call to finish the job properly.
