Hi Guys
I was under the cruiser today because the noises are starting to get to me a
little.
Anyway it took a while to fine one sourse of a rattle (i hope).
It was one of the side steps which seems to have popped two rivets, so metal
vibrating of metal.
After looking under there I found a lead from what appears to be the rear
diff.
Judging from the pattern of the spray on the underside it appears to be from
where the drive shaft meets the diff, just after the flange with the bolts
holding the drive shaft.
Is there a seal of some sort in between the diff and the drive shaft.
I also tried to find the sourse of the front hub scretching when the cruiser
is moving in reverse.
I jacked it up and rotated the hub with wheel on and it did not make any
sound at all, so it seems to be when the weight of the cruiser is on it.
I tried the 12, 6 oclock pull and tug on the wheel and there is movement.
So is there suppossed to be any movement at all on the hub when you do this
test.
Do the wheel bearings need adjusting if there is movement.
I ask because the cruiser is going into Toyota tomorrow morning and would
like to be able to tell them to refix their job on my wheel bearings.
cheers
