Recently thge remote decided not to work. I unlocked with the key and the
lights flashed (horn disconnected ages ago as it kept going off) but i found
she started and ran fine, just with the hazards flashing! New battery in the
remote made it work for a day, then stopped again. Can you buy new remotes -
doesnt have to be a 'real toyota' one , a generic would be fine
cheers

Is it the original Toyo immobilizer - rectangular black fob control with two
buttons, one red one black?
Pete

hi pete, Both remotes came with her and have the Toyota logo so i assume
they are original but they are both black buttons (top one with two arrows
pointing in, bottom with 2 arrows pointing out) rectangle shape with a
rounded bottom and a red led at the top rh corner.

It may have been two black buttons rather than one red one black, it's been
a while ;-)
I had all sorts of problems with mine that couldn't be cured by the local
dealer or anyone else I tried. I since learned that the original fitment had
a history of problems so I had mine replaced with an aftermarket one, cost
about =A3350 fitted from an independent garage about three years ago. It's
been totally trouble free, if you want any info let me know.
