Started to get a bit peed off with the amount of number plate bulbs my motor goes through so started to look for a solution.
I don't know if any of you have the same issue but both mine and the wife's 80s blow these bulbs on a regular basis. The alternator outputs are both okay so all I can guess is water ingress although I couldn't find any evidence of this.
I think I found the solution at our local auto factor that I used to use for coach and lorry bits. These fittings are normally found on Scania and DAF and various others. They fit with very little needed in the line of modifications and take little 12v festoon bulbs.
