Anyone go to the Royal International Air Tatoo last weekend?

I went on Sunday - superb show and only =A396 for five of us including
parking. Ten hours of continuous and superb flying entertainment so less
than =A32 per hour for each of us! Amazing value.

Hi Peter,
No, but watched it from the garden for free ;-)
Also had the bonus of watching all the practice sessions last week with
clearer skies and no rain ;-)

Not to be outdone by the toffs at RIAT..
I'm working on a job in Shannon, Co Clare Ireland (west). My site cabin
is at the end of the main Shannon Airport runway.
In between ear aches and nausia from aviation fuel I can see Ryan Air
flights swerving wildely in attempts to hit the runway in near zero
visibility caused by the non stop rain and high winds coming in from the
atlantic.
.... quite worrying when you see what happened in San Paulo last nite.
Living on the edge....
Cheers
Niall
PS - Did you see the door fall off an RAF helicopter at the Galway
Airshow a few weeks back. Hit 2 people - both OK - lucky or unlucky?!

Hi Peter,
Oh, just been buzzed by a Spitfire returning home from the show - you
just can't beat that noise.....

Hi Julian,
I've got the soundtrack of a Spit doing a fly-by that plays every time I
boot-up my computer, as you say you can't beat that noise.
I visited an airfield once where an Avro Shackleton was stored, they have
the same engine as the Spitfire, but four of them, and stood underneath
while they were being run-up, now THAT was amazing! I'm not sure that my
hearing ever recovered.
