Back in the day when there were no little compressors available my friend used to take a CO2 cylinder on his car trials. Isn't this still the best method for inflating tyres when needed ?

No idea from personal experience.:icon-question:

:think:
However thinking about it, I would have to disagree. The down sides of an air cannister/cylinder would be;
weight, storage space, would need to be lashed down, need to refill (will probably run out when you need it most!). I can't see much benefit, apart from perhaps portability and doesn't need a power source.

Whereas if you invest in a small compressor, even if you haven't got a full bells and whistles system with a "tank", you have an all in one solution which is light, takes very little space, doesn't require much, if any maintenance and effectively an unlimited supply of compressed air. (I'm sure the more expensive/powerful models can even run air tools(?) but then we're probably comparing apples and pears.

If that was the best way, I'd rather think we'd all be doing it.
