ordered some steel today

finally got round to getting in touch with the local steel place

to make... rear boot storage area
and rock sliders!

gone for 50x50x4mm box for the sliders, to cut down on cost and weight a bit, but may join 2-sections of box together for strength if it looks too weedy
100x6mm plate for the chassis brackets

should be delivered (free delivery) next week, the 7m sections a bit long for a 4m trailer!

Great news! Good stuff. What bracket design are you going for. Under and over bolts, U bracket and bolt through? What about the side bars - square or round?

going for the simple (easy ) approach

sliders square and tree fenders too...

haven't decided on bracket yet, going to look at the pictures of yours again and the other chap? who recently made some on a '90, but managed to use bolts top/bottom - i need to check the space between top chassis rail and body
to see if thats possible - the under/over method is my first choice, then your U-bracket as 2nd choice

will be looking at everyones pics of the boot storage system too!
