Thanks Gr8Yota. I have askedfew but they declined saying they don't do LC work but I will keep trying. Might end up going to Devon or Southport :)

Benji Craddock is a bit closer than either of those guys, near Bath And PB Customs in Peterborough. If Chris Bashall is still going he’s in Dunsfold near Guildford. We have several garages here in Norfolk, still closer than Devon or Southport.

I went to PRB customs 3 wks ago, they aren't taking any new work as too busy with what they have. He also suggested Devon 4X4, I think he used to be there before. I will try these other guys you mentioned, thanks.

When is your trip? Is your priority, the trip or having the perfect car?

The problem here (as you already know) is you might be running out of time.

If I was you, I'd get the major mechanical stuff done first - ie the axle - if theres no new axle casing available visit a few local body shops / welders and see if they can fix it - a new axle case might be what you want in a perfect world, but a repair might do you for a few years and keep your trip on track.

While theyre sorting the axle you can see what overland kit is available via all the above places and work out who can do it or what you can do yourself worst case to keep your trip on track.

You can always throw a battery box and fridge in the boot yourself and get on the road, but if you have no axle you're not going anywhere.

Kenya, sorry for late reply, most breakers have anything they can get their hands on, although there are several that specialise.
Bradford 4x4 although it's a long way from you, seem to constantly breaking 120's and they do ship parts all over the country at a cost.
I have dealt with them several times for smaller parts, its never rubbish and fast delivery, and you can phone and talk to them.
Obviously you have to make enquiries/pics to be reasonably sure the part is not worse than your own, if you can't actually view it before purchas. I'm not sure what garauntee they give on parts.

Hoping for August but flexible. I have shown it to few welders but all of them felt it's not going to work. Forces acting on this joint can be massive and welding might not last long. Ending up in the middle of nowhere with a broken axle would jeopardise the whole trip so I have to get it sorted before leaving. Some leads on this thread for the Preparation garages, thanks to all the members, will chase them up next week.

Now trying to contact individual breakers, hopefully it's just waiting for me to call the right person.

Update: Drove up to Southport yesterday and met Paul from West Coast Off Road. Nice guy. Spent two hours with us showing us around his showroom and some of the vehicles they are doing up.
Gave lots of practical and genuine advice. Will get some quotations for the job and probably get it done up there. Thanks to everyone who replied to my query.

Well done Kanya, it's always best to get the whole lot done under one roof.
Is that for all your overlanding mods and the rear axle ?

Splendid !!
As he will have the vehicle to do the mods, he will be best placed to source the correct axle for your 120.

From what i've heard, motors just sit there without work commencing, read some of the reviews that have gone to litigation
AHHH just posted on this - he’s had my engine for 18 months with no idea of what’s going on. Which I had read this sooner.
