Parking problems

I’d give the pedders kit a try.
Why not use the bushes, as long as they are rubber instead of poly i don’t see much problems.
I have them on the shelf here and going to try them.

What's in the box on the rh's? Lol!
Cool tyre haul there Shayne!

You dont want to drink that iwan its paint !

Moral of the story- for me anyway is to check what the manufacturers say is the speed rating not the seller.

They never introduce rules without a nod from the German car industry so i guess this latest save the planet nonsense is aimed at making us buy German 4x4 imposters if we want to travel any distance at speed .

I've not had good experience with Pedders bushes my first set failed their first MOT after fitting - but that could be because i had so called professionals fit the suspension for me  , i've only been in South Wales 17 years so i haven't found a good garage yet :icon-rolleyes:

Besides i feel the offset bushes are a needs must solution sacrificing the thickness of how much rubber is needed to allow flex for longevity , so if the drop plates are a permanent solution that can't wear out why not do it once .

Is there anything else i might need suspension wise ?

Well i ended up with 35's which actually measure 34" while mounted on a 15x10 rim and her indoors seems to think its her kitchen so i best order some suspension .

I wanted the Slee 4" simply because its a job lot all you need kit but emails get an auto response because they are rebuilding their website , and time dictates i should look closer to home so how about these

Coupled with this

Do i just not use the offset bushes included ?

I would post a pics of the wheels but windows has recently decided i'm not allowed to see my own pics and so hides them as soon as i upload them ?
Many years ago I rang slee and simple ordered with card. There helpfull enough, he did seem to struggle with my accent. I didnt think I had one..

It was nigh on ten years ago and only a $80 part so cant remember the ins and outs. I can tell you for sure though that from this end i can ship 30kg for 130 quid, normally about five days.

I got the dash mounted centre difflock switch from Slee a few years ago and it arrived in just over a week and I never got hit with VAT or ID, possibly because of the low value. I also ordered some Isspro gauges from a diesel tuning specialist in Canada (the UK importer/stockist had none) and got a bill, some months after delivery, for Vat and ID from DHL.

Normally you need to pay VAT on commercial goods over £15 if coming from a non-eu country / non-eu special territory plus a charge for customs handling by the carrier who send you an invoice for the whole lot of charges which you can usually pay online which helps speed delivery. The Vat is applicable on the goods, P&P & any insurance and duty if applicable. Generally duty is payable at 2.5% for goods of £135 to £630 but there are exceptions. Over £630 you need to check on 0300 200 3700 Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm. More info at https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Edit: Also check your payment method for non-sterling transaction fees as they can vary. My wife has a Nationwide classic card (sadly not available to new customers) which does not charge them. Others are often 2% or more.

Post Office credit cards are free of charges abroad and still available afaik.

I don't own a credit card , never have , i would probably pay by instant bank transfer but i don't think i've done that to America before and whether i like it or not i do live in the EUSSR so i guess that won't be easy either .

Didn't they make a hole in the Berlin wall one time

Hmm, i’ll give them a try and see what happens after a year or so. I now have them anyway.
The reason I don’t went with plates is that most 80s seem to have troubles with the steering rod rubbing on the front arms with them installed, also it will be illegal to run them in my country.
I wanted drop brackets but man-a-fre wanted 475usd for shipping 2 brackets to Europe.

I have a pair of drop boxes that lower the rear end of the suspension arm where it meets the chassis, you can have them FOC Shayne, if they’re any use to you.

They’ll suit a 4” lift, but I’ve no Idea on postage.

If you’re not in a hurry, Chas or Josh can bring them back with them at the end of August.

Thanks for the offer Clive but this is the attraction of the Slee kit , much searching failed to find a single disappointed customer so i think i will call them and ̶A̶l̶ ̶C̶a̶p̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶ HMRC tomorrow to see whats what , fitted and finished is what i want .

I’ve clearly not spent enough time on this…
I needed new boots and like the Cooper STTs but they’re not made any more so it’s S/T Maxx or STT Pro. After reading this thread https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/stt-pro-or-st-maxx.164238/
I decided it was 50/50 between the two so looked them up and found the STT Pro to be only K rated (110Km/h) so off to my local Tyre shop I went to order the S/T Maxx as they are Q rated at 99mph. After 10 minutes looking none of his suppliers across Europe could supply the Maxx in 285/75/R16 but all could do the STT Pro which they stated as Q rated. Turns out thecrating on the Cooper website does indeed say Q but it varies between Q and K through the size range. Strangely I and he couldn’t find any Tyre rating chart that showed K rating.

So, 4 off STT Pro are on their way.
Moral of the story- for me anyway is to check what the manufacturers say is the speed rating not the seller.

I’ve now entered the dead zone, where it all goes pear shaped.
Here goes. I’ve now been told I can’t have the Cooper STT Pro in Q rating because they have been downgraded to a K rating because of noise regulations. (What!) The exact same Tyre that came out of the mould now has to be rated slower (K) to make less noise on the road. S/T Maxx aren’t available in Europe because they aren’t ‘E’ rated, which is why I cannot get hold of them.

I feel your pain Rich, the world’s gone mad when it comes to tyres, these days... well, this Euro end of the world has at any rate...

What do you mean by cant have rich? They wont fit/ sell them to you?

No longer available in the Q rating for Europe Mike.
