Priming a new filter.

John, one thing I have always done when fitting a new diesel filter, whatever the vehicle, is to fill it with diesel prior to refitting the filter to the housing.
Thus the diesel displaces the air and hence I never use the priming button.
This assumes that you have some clean diesel in a can.
Do not be tempted to tip the contents of the old filter into the new one ! However, it is a good idea to tip the contents, of the old filter into a clear jar and look for water / crud etc. This gives a good idea of the state of the tank.
Gareth Jones.
