Propane Injection - For Diesel.

Propane injection systems are available in the UK. Coantact Alisport - based in the Forest of Dean. Have a look at the March edition of Land Rover Owner - page 127 I think.
I only know brief details but here they are -
System is activated at 4 psi of boost.
It is progressive, more boost - more propane.
There is a switch on the dash so you can run with the system on or off.
These parameters are adjustable so the system can be set to suit the characteritics of the particular engine.
The article related to a 300TDI ( Jerry whatsit of the TV prog Salvage Squad ) who now writes for LRO. He was highly delighted with the system.
The crucial thing is where to mount the tank and how and where to fill it.
Jerry said in the article that he has a standard propane bottle in a steel box in the load area. Well I don't think I would have admitted that in public. Legally any fuel used attracts V.E.D. - no that's not an unpleasant condition - it is Vehicle Excise Duty - Tax ( mind you any tax is unpleasant !)
If you go down this route you need forms from the Revenue and you should declare usage.
The other question about an internal tank is - insurance. I would have thought this would have worried the insurance company.
Obviously if you use a proper vehicle tank mounted externally and buy LPG from a "pump" then you have no worries - it will be a lot more expensive than the propane cylinder !
Food for thought.

Bear in mind that the channel tunnel is a no no with a gas setup.

Hi Clive
Snip
Bear in mind that the channel tunnel is a no no with a gas setup.
Regards, Clive.
Would that also apply to ferries and other transport set ups. Is that a rule
that they would enforce or do they at the moment. What about if you had no
gas in your tank would you be Ok. Its an angle I never thought about really.

The simple answer with the tunnel is no. I was checked for this
last year and got chatting to them about it. I don't know about
ferries. The Dartford tunnel is OK as long as you dont have more than
50 Litres of gas.
Regards, Clive.
