Hi Derek,
You have not given much info on the kit you mention but the best
engineered kit I have seen is MSD digital Propane injection
http://www.msdignition.com/2005/2005_13.htm it uses a computer
controlled needle valve to deliver LPG based on inputs from throttle
position and boost pressure. It also has several well thought out
safety features. You can download the manual for it from MSD's website
and also a datalogging program to use with it as well for free.
The only downside is it is not available for cruisers. If MSD was
supplied the parameters for a cruiser such as rpm output signal, TPS
sensor output, std boost, std power and torque I can't see why they
could not burn a program for landcruisers.
As long as the quantity of LPG added is not too aggressive it has good
benefits, virtually eliminates soot from engine oil, typically improves
exhaust emmissions by 1-2 euro levels, eliminates visible smoke,
improves engine life. Get too aggressive and it will all end in tears.
