pulling safely

Hi Guys
I am open to all your advice on fitting tow hooks, brackets, etc to the
front and rear of my cruiser.
Purpose of these things would be to pull the cruiser or other vehicle out of
mud or bog crap.
I have a strong front bumper, could I attach something there.
Or should I replace the Toy front pig tails.
On the rear I have a tow bar but plan to remove this to gain clearance so
what should I use then.

Tow hooks using high tensile bolts direct to the chassis, and inspect the
Inserted threads to ensure they are in good condition before bolting on the
New tow hooks with 10,000lb or more rating.

John,
On the back you have a set of four holes for a towing loop. Two
of the holes are threaded (fine thread) and two are clear, one of
these loops will pull out a lot. You can also buy towballs and hitches
to fit this hole configuration.
Try not to pull from the front too much ( torque not frequency),
you are then putting the torque the wrong way on the crown wheels and
pinions and they can damage.

Hi Clive
Do you know where I can get this combination that will fit in those four
holes sounds good.
i have been looking but cant seem to find anything other than hooks and
shackles etc.
What about the front chassis or bumper and what is best
I know all about reverse pulling and the problems after watching the
consequences at the last ELCO meet if that is what you mean.
Anyway my front diff is loosing pieces but still seems fine but waiting for
the big metal screech.

For the rear a genuine Toyota or NATO pintle hook will fit. Cheak on
the web - not terribly expensive.

I don't know offhand where you can get the towing loops and
bolts, I found mine on the back of a Mitsa. in a scrapyard. They have
to be available at accessory stores, don't they?
