Radio wiring - apology

Friends, my great apologies for the mess my diagram looked when
it was posted earlier today - well, at least on my version of the
digest. So I will explain the terminals in words not a diagram.
Looking at the back of the radio for the ancillary wiring plug, there
are two rows of locations three in each row, and each row exactly
in-line in the perpendicular.
The top row from left to right.
Top left - blank terminal location (no contact)
Top centre - electric aerial feed (contact unused)
Top right - +ve feed (thick red cable)
Bottom row from left to right
Bottom left - Memory feed [?] ( thick red/yellow banded cable)
Bottom centre - Panel illumination (thin brown cable)
Bottom right - -ve feed (thick brown cable)
I hope that is now more clear.
Roman, thanks for your help and web references. As far as I can
remember I never had a dimmer facility on the panel illumination when
I had it in the previous car - that is what you mean I think. But
when I am near a good landline with net connection on Thursday I will
go through those diagrams and see if there is a clue. (No panel
dimmer facility on the military spec 80 to link it to anyway! But
it will help to at least eliminate that possibility and reduce my confusion).
Cheers

Jon,
This is a bit of a long shot. Pop into Halfords, or the like, have a look at the radio adaptor plugs. On the back of the packets you will find a key showing wiring colours and functions.
I did this when I fitted a new radio cd player into my 80. I had to tidy up the rats nest of wiring that previous owners had left.
I have kept the card for mine but it was for Pioneer - Toyota. If you want the colour / function for this I can let you know tomorrow.
Regards Gareth Jones.
