This is the very reluctant sale of my imported VX LTD. It is the SNOW edition with the factory winch, three diff locks and snorkel. Try and find another one! I paid £6,500 for this last November and planned to keep it long term, but I have been refused renewal by my insurance company after they made a mistake insuring an import and been quoted stupid money on a fresh policy. Also, my wife has gone mad as I have crept up to ten vehicles!
The car drives really well (even though I do not like the BFG Mud Terrains) and has recently had the front axle re-built and the cam belt done. The interior is good and it has the original pouch with all the accessories for the winch (which works). I had the blistering on the bonnet and roof done so the paint is in vgc and as you would expect from an import the chassis is perfect and there is no rust around any of the usual window channels, etc.
If you are looking at this then you are probably well aware that the price of 80 Series VX's at the Japanese auctions keeps rising as more and more people in remote global locations have tried and discounted modern cars full of software. These cars cannot stay at current values in the UK for much longer. I bid and lost on two vehicles at Japanese auction sites which went to Russia and Africa for prices approaching $20K (and that is FOB!)
Weak points that I was going to address are the drivers window which needs a new mechanism, the heating for the rear passengers is not working and neither is the compass/altimeterdisplay. Also the stereo is US and it needs a new aerial (the ratchet mechanism still extends and retracts from the switch). I suspect the mileage to be higher than showing, but at this age of vehicle we are all looking at the overall condition and this one is good. I am prepared to lose money on the car but want £5,500 for it.
Please come back to me with any other questions. If you contact me then put down your number and a good time to call as I work away for part of the week

OK, it looks like you are going to let it go, but have you asked 2gether insurance for a quote? They specialise in this sort for vehicle - even with modifications. Mine has just come back at £370 fully comp, 1 year NCD following a write off. Tonnes of modifications.

Haven't you got a Landrover or something else you can get rid of instead

Chris

Chris - how do you know about my Land Rovers??? Yes, I have a few series 1's but they are like my children and will only be moved along when they don't work! I got stitched up on this LC by Swiftcover. They told me they would insure it (at £230 pa) so I bought it. They then contacted me to say they made a mistake insuring it and would not renew the policy. At the end of 2012 I had 2 prangs, one my fault and one not, so I was being quoted silly money to insure it by everyone else. I have also now got an immaculate UK supplied L plate 80 which Swiftcover will insure, so hence this one having to go. Well done if you have followed that rambling response :)

can i have some contact details please as i would like to speak to you about it. i have also sent you a pm.

I have got one with the factory winch and 3 diff locks.

And do not want to sell it

£6500 is a very reasonable price.

But 20,000 bucks would make me think £13,000 squid mmmmmm

With all due respect - what the XXXX has this got to do with Nic's for sale ad, except to show your one is nicer? Ad rules...?!?
