I have plenty of clearance under my Collie so could remove the rear control arms without jacking the vehicle up or placing on ramps. Would their be any issues doing it like this or does the vehicle body weight need to be lifted off the axle?

I did mine on the 80, both upper and lower, with the vehicle driven on to ramps. Had to jack the chassis up slightly to unload the suspension to get the rear upper bolts out through the springs, other than that is was fairly straight forward. Idid one side at a time just in case the axle moved if both were removed. Settled the suspension before tightening the bolts by bouncing up and down on the rear step with the wheels on the ground.

I did mine on the floor as well. No problem getting them back in.
