has anyone fitted one of these OEM rear mounted tanks?

what brackets, hoses and other stuff will i need?

who in the UK would be good to fit this?
i'm thinking West Coast while i'm in the UK in July

I read that a 95 series tanks fits the 120 for a sub tank. Also vise versa lots about it on prado point.

what's Amayama Rob?

cheers

A company in Japan and the UAE who stock lots of Land Cruiser parts at much lower prices than I can typically get them in the UK. There's a thread on them here: https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/amayama.144189/

Their website is here https://www.amayama.com/en/

Bear in mind you need much more than the tank. The tanks are plastic, so you'll want the tank protector (#7760660140) another £160. Straps (#7760160270) to hold the tank in, another £50. Fuel guage sender (#7701035030), another £100. Plus various pipes.

Have a look at a parts diagram on Toyodiy and see what you think. By the time you've got everything, paid thhe courier, VAT and import duty I don't think you'll be much different to Stan's kit.

Hi Rob,

It seems like you are very much "into it" and because i 'm interested in placing a secondary fuel tank myself,
i was wondering if anyone knows how much "weight" we are addind on our LC's with all the above (tank, straps, pipes, pumps and flowmeteres ect).

You see, weight and offroading are not going together

I like the look of Stan's kit, looks like quality
not keen on the weight tho',at nearly 50kgs!

i have an oem set up on my 80. they are worth the money imo. fit like a glove and work a treat. my tank is 50 litres and weights about 13 kg empty. they have only recently stopped making the 8os sub tank.

update;
Trev at freedom 4x4 is getting all the bits together, sourced from his local Toyota
it's not been easy but Trev likes a challenge
i needed a new main tank which works with the new rear 'Colorado' tank, giving in total about 170 litres
i'll update when it's all installed and working

I have a long range / secondary fuel tank in my BJ73 that came disconnected. Attempted to power a solenoid on it but nothing happened...
Any tips as I want to get this working?
