Rear Spring removal.

No.

If you use stands under the frame rails, with the wheels off the ground, the axle is held up by the shocks. When you take the lower shock end off it's mount, you need a support under the axle. Watch the brake line and diff breather, they may be too short.
When you lower the axle a bit, you can pluck the spring out without any compressing.

Once when I did this, the shock developed a small leak because of the sideways force to bend it off the lower mount. Not really a leak even, just that the lower part of the shock has been wet ever since.
