Slightly off topic Jon but were you in Sarajevo during the war?
SNIP...
No, despite working as a missionary out here for a while, I am a devout
coward. Definitely a post conflict kind of man. Today there is enough live
fire on high days and holiday to scare the wits out of me; and now the
wedding season has started we will see arcs of tracer on the mountains
around the city as they celebrate the nuptuals every Saturday night. But
coping with minefields post-war is another matter though. Anyway, lets not
annoy the moderator any more ;o)

I'm sure the moderator isn't looking...
I just wondered as I spent a long time in Sarajevo and other places in 94
and 95. Started off as a ceasefire but went pear shaped pretty quickly. Also
your pictures on Igman reminded me of walking out of the city in the middle
of Jan '95, via a tunnel under the airport, round the back of Igman and
eventually to Mostar courtesy of a UN convoy. Have been back twice since
then but not recently but am due a visit to see some very dear friends who
quite literally saved our lives on more than a few occasions. They live very
close to the Catholic church in the old town. As I dislike flying so much
we'll probably drive so maybe we can swap TLC notes.
