Removing Window Tint Film

Evening All and welcome back Clive (any chance of a review of your
Icelandic trip),
Has anyone here ever tried removing the film used to tint windows?
I have just put it on a couple of windows on a car and now need to
remove some old tint from some other windows so that it can be replaced
with something darker.
The stuff that I have put on has a sticky side that is joined to the
glass using a water and washing up liquid mixture to make sure that it
goes on cleanly without any air bubbles.
Apart from just attacking old stuff with a scraper, I was wondering if
there were any chemicals that could be used to soak the tint in to aid
removal.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Julian,
Thanks for the welcome and well spotted. I will post some details
when I have more time, I am going to be busy this week. I may have a
few choice pics for perusal as well but they will take time as I am
collecting and sharing the pics from all participants, there will be
over 1500, so time is needed.
Regards, Clive.

Hi Dennis,
Don't they like it out there?

Hi Dennis,
Fair comment, I hadn't considered that angle.
