Hi, our 2008 VX has 320,000Ks on it. Last week when we put it in for a service the mechanic ( 4wd specialist) told us that the injectors need replacing, due to milage otherwise we can risk blowing up the engine. Has anyone got any idea if this is correct??

Sounds like BS to me. Blowing up an engine by putting fuel in it? Really? What you can suffer is poor performance of course.

If your injectors were pouring fuel in, then yes, it could eventually get past the pistons and sit in the oil sump. This would be rather bad news. But telling you that this is happening and testing to show that it is happening are two different things.

If your injector pattern are not up to spec anymore and they are dripping it CAN result in cracked pistons and or busted bottom end bearings.
The only way to tell is to get them tested and rebuilt if necessary.
