My father recently gave me his FJ40, which was a dream come true. This was the vehicle from my childhood I never thought I would own. Now that I've had the mechanics do their thing, and steam cleaned at least 41 yrs of grime off the inside, I'm looking to replace all the weather stripping on the doors, hatch, and gate. The stripping made specifically for the FJ4o is really pricey. Has anyone used aftermarket stripping, then regretted it? Thanks in advance!

Hi love the old 40s you r a lucky boy lots of good bits in the USA have fun with it from Tony.

The weather strip I bought from Spectre Off Road is excellent. Had it fitted for the last 12 years and there are no signs of wear and my 40 is my daily driver. But the aftermarket bits I bought around the same time are ready for the bin. The 40 weatherstrip is made for the truck and lasts. And at least you won't have to pay international shipping, import duty and VAT (like your sales tax but is currently around 20%!)
Nice truck. That's pretty cool getting the truck you grew up with from you dad.

Regards,

Rodger
