Could someone explain how you get better fuel economy from disconecting the front hubs.drive shaft etc.
I would have thought that you would use the same or more because you are now driving the same weight vehicle with only one axle drive now.
Would this not require a little more power to it to move what the original two exels were moving to begin with.
How could you possible test this set up without the use of a race track testing centre because all it would take on a normal road is one more or less braking or acelleration and the figures would be off.
Or naybe im way off.

I'm no scientist, but I'm quite sure that you don't need more energy to
move the car when running as 2wd, but how much is saved I just don't know.
Well.. people that have done it, does say that they get better
fuel-economy .. some say around 10-15% .. but I don't know..
My 80 was born a 4x4 and i think I'll keep it that way ;)

it will be too much work and costs to do HDJ80 2wd-it just doesn't make
sense.
if you wish so buy J7 series...
I think that permanent AWD has undisputable advantages...
