Hi guys
Toyota eventually got in my bushing and retainers for the drop link on the rear suspension after two weeks of getting bits and not all of them at once. Just over the rear axle attached to the chasis on each side there is or WAS a square thing (metal or metal and rubber) attached by two bolts. There is vertually nothing left of these.
Could any one tell me what they are for . I think they are bump stops or soeme thing like that, am I right. It meand another trip to Toyota on Monday to order new ones.

Hi John,

It sounds like those were your bumpstops. When I had to replace mine Toyota
were ridiculous but replacements from Milners weren=92t that expensive =96 both
sides for =A330 or so if I remember rightly. I would give the bolts a good
soaking in penetrating oil for several days before attempting removal.

Off roading with a suspension lift may well rip your rear antiroll bar links
right out again =96 it might be worth leaving it off until you can get the
links extended or the bracket spaced down from the chassis. YMMV=85

Hey Toby
You have my attention, so go on tell me what you mean by extending those anti roll bar links. How, Where etc can I do this.
I have given up for the day before I break an arm or something more valuable like another nut or bolt.
Your warning about seized bolts came too late. I tried to loosen the nut on the drop link and it would not budge, so I tried to loosen the nuts on the drop link bracket and one sheered off right away with all of it still in the chassis.
I did manage to undo the second one and off came the bracket. Well this will be easy said I, well this nut decided to be difficult and then sheered off. So now I have a drop link with no thread on top .
Think you have me bet I said well you will see and then I produced a spare complete drop link complet with bushings.
Now all i had to do was undo the nut and bolt holding the drop link onto the anti roll bar, no problem yea right.
I lost more skin to that nut today than what I was born with and have given up, IT WON
I will have to leave it in to be done cause I have no more ability to do it myself. THE END
