Thats it then Truck 'O' Saurus went away with his new owner today, off to live in the Alps, via Paris. got a good by UK standards price for it, but cheap for French Prices. (Dont forget it was R/H drive). Had a lot of fun with him and spent a fortune, but doesnt everyone?

Pick up the new (old) 80 from UK Sunday and drive it back via overnight ferry, should be home by Monday lunch. Will start a new thread as soon as we have touch down :)

That's gotta hurt mate but hey you enjoyed making it your own and now you get to start again older and wiser and more clued in about what you want and need , fortune favours the brave so its onwards and upwards always

Ouch, that sounds painful Steve, especially as its gonna be 5 days before there are Cruiser tyres on the drive again...

Roll on Sunday

Sad view that... but at least you'll be replacing it with another mighty Toyota. Onwards!!

aww thanks guys - HWMBO wont let have 2 cruisers, cos she knows as we all do, it will be 3, 4 and more! The 95 was great, but I am (hoping) the 80 will be better, we shall see :)

brave face - putting on a brave face :(

It will soon turn back into the silly grin when you get some miles in on the 80 Steve.

Can’t wait to see the beast

Can you tell us a bit about it before we get photos? Year, model, any extras, c’mon man... yer killin’ me and it’s ages till Sunday:angry-tappingfoot:

ooo, your bad!
OK its perfect! (I hope, not actually seen it yet.....but its a club member of great respect, its been serviced and modded at Overland Cruisers (so you know its good!) and I had a mechanique buddy in UK check it out :) (he lives 15 mins away) - one or two things to be done as its not moved much in a couple of years as the guy lives abroad, and it sits on his brothers driveway. Its jut passed UK MOT so should be OK to drive home........
160 k miles, hot and cold water, webasto pre heater, intercooler, aux battery, 170l long ranger tank, and a shed load more that I will no doubt reveal in the future :)

Great looking 80 that.

Wow! That new 80 looks sensational! You were winding us up with all that "fake" sadness malarky! ;-)

Noooooooo. Still very sad as the 95 was a bog standard 95 when we got her. We turned her into a him over the last 6 or 7 years! Very sad but...as had been said, a new start with a truck that's there or thereabouts just a few personal tweaks and it will be ours- a MEGA SAURUS

Sorry to hear the bad news.

But I think that you might have a winner there with the new 80.

If I am not mistaken.... that cruiser belongs to a member here (C) and I saw it an an adventure overland show on the overland cruiser stand. It might be a reason why I bought my 80.

Good luck!

Looking to hear more about the new toy!

I’m sure the 80 will serve you well, but as you well know they are a different bus from the 90 / 95. It was a hard decision to make, but it’s been nearly 2 years since I was in the UK last. Now I have my Troopy in Australia I have been spending more time there exploring, and in all honesty I don’t see me spending too much time in the UK in the near future due to various reasons. I’m sad the truck is going, and already regretting my decision to sell it.
