Well, I joined sahara overland forum years ago...
Actually it is quite good, and I personally know a few of the people on
the forum, I've even travelled with some of them....they do try and keep
things up to date for travellers. I haven't visited the site for a
while, and its time I paid a return visit.

Possibly the most used and best current site is Sahara Overland, an
addition
to Chris Scotts book. There are some Italian, French and german sites,
but
certainly for the English speaking overlander Sahara Overland is the
probabvly the best known. Have a look at the forum here:

It's broken down into several areas but from a 4wd pov, LRs dominate as
you
might expect.
