Salisbury plain

They are not to bad but you need to be aware of alot.

I went a few times ago on a proper byway and ended up in the middle of some mortars

I've heard that on occasion the army forget/neglect to raise ALL the red flags when live firing.....

I have been down there years ago only to come out of a lane that wasn't marked on the way in but it was on the way out. .

On the Castlemartin range in Pembrokeshire, they publish a list of firing days and road closures, but they don't seem to do one for Salisbury Plain. I think that it's a thing of the past, but there used to be an open day at Larkhill, impressive, but it was noticeable that not every shell went bang when it landed......

Edit: just in case it might be handy:https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/firing-notice
