I've got one.
I would say don't bother unless you like the look of the them. They are a sin qua non (God knows if that is spelt right) of overland vehicles.
You'd have to be as mad as a bus load of Mexicans (apologies to any Mexicans or those feel that Mexicans need standing up for) to go through water up to the windscreen and it seems unlikely that there is less dust flying around at 6 feet off the ground than some place strategically tucked away under the bonnet.
Most people think its an exhaust pipe, so if you like explaining things to people, it has benefits.
Mine is not noisy. Despite what those who are supposed to know about these things say I think they cut down power.
You know you want to!!!
Tony

Wotcha mates!
Thanks for all your quick replies.
Seems like a lot of dosh (even at $ rates!) and butchery for the unlikely event of a bus load (boat load!) of Mexicans coming along!
Nice one Tony!
'Gone for the OME 2.5 lift kit (noted your remarks about drilling the steering damper Roman!), 285/75/16 (for when I finally change the 275's) and a wiring harness (headlight).
Wrote the winch off some time ago- I'm sure I would just end-up playing with it when I could dig the thing out-done that a few times!
Saving the snorkel and winch cash for a 'Webasto' parking heater, anyone got recent experience of them?
Anyone want to buy a brand new and still boxed Kenlowe preheater? It's going on ebay shortly!I don't have a power source near to where I park at the moment.

Dermot

Is that a block heater? And, if so, how complicated is it to fit?

Yes.
Not complicated at all, just a little thought about where you want to put it. Everything is in the kit, even mounting brackets and hose.

P.S. Apologies for changing the subject line Julian!!

Hi Dermot,
The Slee wiring harnesses do not work with UK lights - they appear to
have a different bulb connector - we use the standard 3 pin (spade
terminals) for high and low beam lamps whereas in the US they use a two
pin connector.

Hi Julian,
congrats on the family developments, you must have too much
time on your hands all those children!
You are correct but Dave convinced me on the phone that there were easy to
modify and 'worth the cash'.
If you are still hoping to sort-out the LED lights, I finish the Orlando run
in April, so I can be courier until then.
Cheers

Hi Dermot.allen,
Thanks.
Fair enough - I just thought it was a fiddle having to replace most of the
plugs and lengthen the tails they were on.
Whilst I have bought one, I will probably not bother using it and will make up
my own from scratch which will minimise the number of joins.
Thanks.

Hello,
I just bought in Warsaw a couple of 3W white Luxeon Luxeon III Star
LEDs @ GBP 10 pp. In the US they are probably under UDS 10 pp. I'll
experiment with my LEDs when I'm back in the UK. If they work as
expected, perhaps it would be worthwhile to make a bulk order for the
list.

Hi Julian,
Thanks for taking the time to reply/comment.
I think I will cancel my order as the harness was due to be despatched with
the last box containing final bits of my OME lift kit in ten days.
Did you get my cd's? No rush at all as it is (rightly) bottom of your list
at the moment, just want to make sure they arrived.
Best Regards

Hi Dermot.allen,
Yup, will deal with them early next week.
