Speaker grill under the steering wheel

What's that all about then? I've seen a thread somewhere, where a small CB system and speaker was mounted behind it (great idea!) but did Toyota really put it there purely for decoration, or was it always intended to mount a speaker extension behind it? Was the LC90 ever offered with a "communication option"?

Anyway, if there's nothing behind it, is there an extension speaker that fits quite well behind it?

Not in Europe, in other markets they would need comms, thats why there is another slot under the stereo for a two-way radio.
I used the little grille to mount my car phone speaker behind.
