Hi All,
I'm thinking of a Tecinox side exit exhaust for my 80, unfortunately they are crazy money but still worth every penny once you've seen one in the flesh. To raise a bit of cash towards this I'm going to sell my Cybox stainless system which is currently on the truck. It cost me £507 two years ago so I'm looking for £250. However I can't let it go until the new one arrives from France which is why I've not put this in the classified section. All in good used condition 304 stainless, mandrel bends, uk made.
Check out Cybox landcruiser hdj80 on Ebay for full details.

2.5 inch Nick i want 3" direct from turbo

Can you tell a real novice on such matter what are the advantages of such an expensive item? thanks.

Have you ordererd the Tecinox already? I have found this : http://www.extreme-tuning.bg/en/pro...V---exhaust-system-76mm-with-side-skurt-exit-
It's half the price of the tecinox one and 3"

A free flowing exhaust , and especially when going to 3" including the elbow on the turbo will make the turbo spool up faster and thus make it more responsive. Also the 4.2 TD has a VERY nice and deep roar with the free flowing exhaust

Pro Speed in Cardiff are a good alternative to talk to, they've done many Cruisers including the 3" dump pipe off the turbo.

I had a 3" SS side exit system made up by local specialist a few years ago now, looks very similar to the one in the link in post #5.

Unfortunately Pro Speed may talk the talk but they certainly have a lot to learn when it comes to producing a quality job..... needless to say I would never trust them with my Land Cruiser again.

I hear a 3" is good for the non turbo 1HZ too. Helps a bit.

What was the problem you had with Prospeed Paul, the system they did for me, a few years ago now, has been perfect, it was run inside the chassis so not vulnerable off road, and made it side exit exactly as I wanted it I also asked for it to be no noisier than standard which they did, it has a different tone but not unpleasant at all, all in all I was very pleased with their job.

Chas do you have any pictures of how yours is routed?

Would like to know how they get up the middle of the chassis and come out the side.

Does it go under the chassis rail?

I have looked and decided that would be a problem for me just in case I land on it. So would be very interested to see how they over came that.

Regards Stu

No I don't have any pictures of it but it runs between the chassis rails and over the rear axle then comes out just behind the rear wheel through a hole cut in the bottom edge of my rear bumper, it's not been squashed yet. You can see where it exits in the picture from Strata

and the other picture shows the bumper before the SS exhaust was fitted.

Sorry Chas I miss understood and thought it was under the doors.

Will have to see where they got that over the rear axle

Mine exits under the OS rear door just forward of the rear wheel arch but it's too low and exposed for serious offroading.

This is a picture of mine whilst it was being fabricated at the shop if this helps. Certainly not suitable for serious off road use which suits my needs.

Mine exits in front of the rear wheel and have done slot of serious offroad but haven't damaged it.

I would like to move it so I can fit sliders.

Yours is a workhorse Stu so why not just cut it back clear of the slider and make it vent to the ground .

Yes, it's because of my sliders that it is behind the rear wheel, I did want it originally in front but had to compromise.
