Fresh battery in the remote (and dry the remote out well if it has got
wet).
If yours is one with a switch on the side make sure it is well pushed
into either position and not dithering in the middle.

Is this the factory fitted immobiliser? If it is do you have the remote
with 2 buttons, one black & one red?
I had the same problem and ended up having a new alarm system fitted.
The problem is that the ECU completely loses it's settings and even my
local Toyo main dealer couldn't sort it.
BUT, a temporary fix that worked for me is:
1. Disconnect battery negative
2. Put ignition key into "ign" position
3. Reconnect battery
4. Start
This worked every time without fail for me.
But you'll have to repeat this every time you want to start the car!
There is no permanent cure AFAIK - you will need a new system.

I think it's factory fitted and there aren't any buttons-they are two
small chips or bricks : black and red- one is master I supposed and i
lost the red already. But that seems crazy to disconnect the battery
every time I shall start the car. and the local Toyo might not fix
that either 'couse the car is import form Germany :-(
But i'll try your advice...
Thank you guys...

Hi Lubo,
You must be the proud owner of the world's first remote powered by
perpetum mobile! May I have a blueprint, please? :)

Have you tried to start it using my "fix" yet? Did it work?
I know it's a crazy thing to have to do but if it works it will at least
get you out of trouble temporarily.
Where are you based? I forget.

Hi Pete
I just tried your "fix kit" but it didn't work for me though I had to
disconnect both batteries. and is f...cking cold outside -12 degrees
Looks like uncle Toy should fix it :-(. I live in Norway and the
winter has come here at last...

It *must* have a battery! Mine splits on the central seam: inserting a
broad blade screwdriver and twisting does the job. (Or maybe a coin will
work.)
In the short term try warming the remote well before using, as getting a
bit of warmth into its battery may produce just enough volts to make it
work again.
Try taking it to a camera shop, as they are usually pretty good at
opening up things and replacing batteries, and also carry a good range
of different types.

Well it could be right what you say but how possibly both of them
will get flat?
By the way (lucky me) I found the red one beside the car after 24
hours :)
then the step one will be tomorrow visiting photo shop with the hope
they can replace the 'battery'
By the way when I try the red remote there is a sign of disengage but
after 2-3 seconds it activates again :-(
