Hi Guys
I was wondering what the difference is between the starter motor
(28100-17020) and the starter motor (28100-17030) would be.
cheers

Hi John,
That wouldn't have been you who outbid me for the recon starter on eBay by
any chance would it?

Hi Ian
I think it would if your bid was about ?77, sorry about that. Its supposed
to be brand new not recon. Wow It is a small world in our cruiser world.
Thats why im looking to see what the difference is because there seems to be
two starters for that period so I suppose one is better than the other but
that they are the same really.
cheers

Hi John,
Yes that was mine !!!
I know the description says new but looking at the pictures the box clearly
says remanufactured!! My guess on the part numbers, and it is only a guess,
is one is new new and the other is new remanufactured.
For those of you interested, we are talking about item number 4616623288 on
ebay.co.uk

Ah Ian I am sorry I know you had the bid on for a long time cause I was
watching for days and days. But I have had problems for a long time with
mine and seen this one and said to myself why not have a new one on stand
by.
A little voice in my head also said get a second starter and take it apart
and learn how it works, this was the voice of Roman I do believe when a long
time ago he advised me to get a second starter to play with.

John,
Not a problem mate, I was outbid fair and square!!! My bid only went in at
the very end, like you I had been watching it for days.

Hi Ian
So you were as crafty as me, I hate losing right at the end its a real
killer.
I have asked the guy what the story is of the contridictions in the auction
and about the numbers, see what he says. Will you be going to Salisbury just
so I know who the mud ball came from that will hit the back of my head.

Hi John,
Would be interested to hear what he says. I will be going to Salisbury, no
mud balls - I promise.

Hi John,
The 28100-17020 was the original starter for 80 series models up to
August '92 then it was superseded by the 28100-17030.
I'm guessing that the latter one should fit your older 80, but cannot
guarantee it.

Ah Reno
You also hear the voices do they tell you to give your cruiser to this Irish man if so dont disapoint those voices do as they tell you. Ill Take delivery of it at Salisbury gift wrapped if you please. No im not a postal worker so no voices about guns , just keep hearing questions about cruisers and more cruisers.
You are in France are you not.

You don't have any guns, do you? The little voice in my head says watch out for Irishmen with guns.
