Starting problems

Hi ignat/Chris

Funny thing happened to me. One day there is a few drops and another there is none! But what I did found was, that when I start her up and pump the accelerator while turning the key she got to start.
Tightened the clamps on the fuel line helped a bit but soon the drip started again and I was back to the beginning of the problem. Found she had the same problem on the fuel line as Chris's and decided to change
the pipes..... and Voalla!!! she starts like a bomb!!! Found a cover behind the right rear wheel-arch, took it off and what do you know?..... another little filter tucked neatly behind there! Will change that most definitely with
the next service. Apparently the air that is getting sucked in thru the damaged fuel-line causes a delay in starting.

Well ignat all I can say buddy is that I hope you solve your problem as well....

Well....

I looked underneath and to me it looked like there is some fuel leak going on. Having seen the rusty bolts holding the tank protector etc I thought I'd send it to a local mechanic.

He had it for 20 mins before saying absolutely no leaks. The whole underbody is "salisbury plain brown" except the bottom half of the tank which is greasy/diesel-soaked. But I'm sure the mechanic knows better than me.

I was at a red light last night and the revs went down then back up a few times then it died. Its hard to start even with the engine warm now. Then half an hour later the revs dropped off dramatically a few times like the engine was being starved of fuel. eventually it got going without stalling.

Removing tank cap there was quite a big whoosh of air (escaping?).

Anyway, its off to a diesel specialist on monday so lets see what they say

Hey its the weekend! :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingdrunk:
