Just a chance find but i thought i'd share because personally i'd be more comfortable letting someone i don't know go at it with a welder with accurate plates to guide him .

Or is it worth reinforcing the area carefully before fitting bigger tyres and going off road?

I’d recommend having these or similar reinforcement fitted whatever you plan for your 80, unless it’s used strictly as a road vehicle with no heavy loads.
