Hello all
Does anyone know how to safely remove stickers from paintwork?
And for that matter from glass?
Thanks

Hi Guys
Now this is just a thought before you start throwing rocks. I think that it
is (to me anyway) very inportant that if we, go as planned to get a sticker
for the club. It should be lasting and colourful with dignity and wit. I
think it would be a real shame to rush this in any way and end up with a
half sticker come paper with sellotape holding its dying, flaking peeling
and fading carcass on our windows. This is something I want my cruiser to
wear with pride not for the sake of it on its own.
I am sure there is companies out there that would do up a batch of good
quality stickers for the club and they would also have an art team and
proper machinery at hand to do a 100% job.
Some thing that will reflect what the club is not what we all look like,
well me anyway crusty and old looking.
I want a bright fresh bold sticker that will attract attention for all the
right reasons.
What about getting sunvisors made up with the loco and some nice pictures of
cruisers etc. There would be more room on one of those.
Maybe more expensive but hey might be nice and have an impact aswell. If im
on the wrong track here tell me rather than let me go on. Maybe people just
want something cheap I dont know.

John,
I have access to professional designers and the actually site was
designed by a professional (although I'm not a 100% keen on the
colours) - I was provided with several different designs and this was
the best of the rest.
With professional printing the cost tends to increase with the number
of colours used and all in all it is an expensive thing - the prices
only really start to look sensible when doing several thousand.
With what Chris is offerring we should be able to run to full colour,
however I think that full colour pics will be a waste of space - don't
forget that most of the time these will be seen from a distance so fine
detail will be missed.

Julian,
FWIW. The Pajero club also found the cost was high. So initially they just
issued a 100mm diamond of yellow Fablon which we all stick on the screen
behind the rear view mirror so it does not obstruct screen view. It was
cheap, fadeproof, has a proven adhesive and easily recognised by others on
the road. (Even been flashed by others on the M25 now). You may have
noticed it on mine when we last met.
Lately they have put a small black graphic of the Paj on it and no more,
well mebbe the web address. I think the wisdom was that it was more for
others to identify a fellow member than advertise the club to following
drivers of the same marque. They are now going for a spare wheel cover that
gives all the info, though not so easy for Toys with spare under the floor.
Surely those who are keen enough to join a group like ours will do so by a
web search or recommendation rather than see a sticker on he back of a car
and want to stop and read it?
Finally, congrats on all the hard work you are doing for the event and
stickers etc. Its looking impressive, even on the 80scool site too - where
Lio is now also famous ;o)

Hi Julian
I have been messing around on the web, just like normal I hear you say. Well
I have been sussing out a few places for the stickers and I have a quote for
?81 for 50 stickers in size 100 x150 mm. Im sure there are others out there
aswell. Im also sure that most of us would be willing to pay a few quid for
a good sticker, after all its only the price of a pint or two and well worth
it. If You want over the next few days I can track down some more quotes and
see where we go or I can leave it.

Hi John,
If you have the time, that would be great because I am flat out at the
moment.
We could either go for a window sticker to stick on the inside of a bumper
type sticker.
I quite like Jon's idea of a recognition thing, but with so few TLCs on the
road and being so far apart I wonder if it is worth it?
