Subject LWB Coils sprung Land Cruiser system voltage?

Twin batteries are wired in parallel ie side by side so the voltage remains
the same but the amps are doubled. Batteries wired in series means end to
end ie. The voltage doubles but the amps stay the same. All Land-Cruisers
are 12 volts.

Roger,
All land cruisers are not 12v. The 60 series was 24v all over.

Roger,
Correct.
Here we are interested, however, not in battery current output but
rather in the amount of power delivered to turn the engine. And
because:
Watts = Volts x Amps
a 24V starter system delivers twice as much power using the same current output.
Not correct.

That=92s half the story as the 24VDC starter is unlikely to draw the same
current and so the volts drop in the wiring is reduced (wasted power).
If on a 12V system the cranking is at 10V lots of power is being lost to
wiring and internal battery resistance, over 15%, on a 24V system at 22V it
less than 10%.
Of course some manufactures us this as an opertunity to reduce cable sizes
on the starter etc and you end up back were you began.
Anyway arne't vehicles moving to 36V to cope with the increasing electrical
demands etc?

I have read both 42V & 36V, one suggestion being 36v batteries and a 42V
operating system?
Interested that variable cams would be a factor, most things like that
are/were hydraulic or electronic/electrical & hydraulic combined, pure
electrical is interesting but I suppose some injector systems have been
quite successful with just piezoelectric so that could apply to other
control actuators so perhaps that=92s the motivator.
Anyone see the news about the nightclub in London that claims to be 100% eco
friendly - piezoelectric electric generation from the dancefloor etc,
certainly seem that piezoelectric is going to be applied (and misapplied?)
to a varied range of applications.
