If you fancy a weekend just chilling and talking Cruisers then it's a good one to add into your diary.

Those that have been before can testify to a great relaxed weekend of chin wagging, food and a beer or two, anyone who hasn't been before will be made more than welcome. Completely informal and all about the banter.

There is no charge, rather an expectation to buy a few beers or have a meal in the pub during our stay. The field can fit around 20 Cruisers or so on the flat area and we can have a camp fire and a contribution toward the cost of wood is the only charge.

The location is the Stratton Arms, Turweston, Northants, NN13 5JX.

Roughly 6 miles south of the Silverstone race circuit.

Cruisers, expedition trailers, children and well behaved dogs welcome. Unfortunately no space for caravans.

UPDATE

Pleased to confirm that this event is still going ahead and the following updates apply.

UPON ARRIVAL
The pub field will be busy with our numbers and there will be some motorhomes as well, we are asked to fill the field from the very bottom first and work our way upward, in the past we have been able to park pretty much as we wanted as it was only us using the field before. When parking please reverse or nose in to the edge rather than parking parallel so we can squeeze our numbers in on the flatter part of the field.

Leave enough space around the fire area so we can enjoy a fire.

PUB FOOD
Food is available, however the pub is working to a reduced menu. If you wish to have a meal then you need to advance book a table. Please do this by calling the pub directly to make the booking on 01280 704956 before the weekend and be sure to mention you are part of the Landcruiser group.

Menu

Breaded haddock, chips and peas £7-95
Breaded scampi, chips and peas £8-50

Honey roast ham, 2 eggs and chips £8-50
Full rack of ribs, chips and salad £9-95
Beef ale and mushroom pie, chips OR mash and peas £7-95
3 pork sausages, mash, peas and gravy £6-50
Chilli con carne, rice and salad £7-95

Vegetarians, vegans and any other dietary requirements will try to be accommodated, please ask during table booking.

A breakfast option has previously been extended to us (not normally offered at the pub, so we are a special).

Saturday morning there is an option of a full english breakfast comprising:-

2 x sausage
2 x bacon
egg
mushrooms
tomatoes
baked beans
black pudding for those that do
bread and butter
tea or coffee with refill for £7-50

Sunday morning

Sausage or bacon bap with tea or coffee £4.00

We do not need to pre book formally for breakfast but it would be very helpful if you could indicate if you want one so the pub can get supplies in ahead of time. I will start a breakfast post at the end of this thread. Again vegetarians/vegans etc will try to be accommodated, please indicate on the thread.

COVID considerations

The pub has a one way system to use the bar, in through the back, buy your drink, out through the front, one person at a time. If you wish to sit in the pub, tables have already been spaced out and the food can either be served in the restaurant or the outside seating area.

Masks are not mandatory, your choice and preference.
There is a voluntary pad and pen inside the pub to write your details down if you wish to participate in the track and trace, again not mandatory.

As we are going to be a bit of a gathering, when it comes to parking and sitting around the fire at night. We have been asked to try and maintain some social distance etiquette. So if there are a number of you from the same household and/or bubble you can park a bit closer to each other and sit in a closer group around the fire whilst keeping 2 metres from your neighbour.

I'm sure common sense will prevail, it's worth noting that a local put a complaint into the council as they thought that patrons were not following the rules and the pub received a visit from the authority. Let's not be the cause of the next complaint.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the weekend.

In the usual fashion, please add your name if you are coming.
