Hey guys!
Got a bit of a problem with my 75 series troopy. Dash lights are out aswell as the brake and rear lights. Head lights work with the reverse lights! Fuse keeps blowing everytime I put a new one In

Anyone got any ideas on what's going on? Cheers!

Hi Sam,

Welcome. I dont know the 70's so cant give specific info, but from what you say it seems there is a short circuit somewhere, maybe a wire/connector has come lose and is touching the chassis or there is a fault in one of the lamp holders. I thin the only way you can trace the fault is by using a multimeter or continuity tester to verify if there is a short and to try to locate it.

cheers

First place that I would check is the wiring at the rear of the vehicle, for breaks, shorts, etc. Anywhere at the rear is susceptible to damage from stones, sticks, etc, especially the trailer connection socket if it has one. Also check for badly done wiring where the trailer socket has been connected into the main loom.

All these areas can cause problems like you describe. Good luck.
