After joining here over a month ago, all I have done is read and read, the search button is worn out.
But thanks to all, who have posted over the years I was able to understand, and decide what I wanted, from all the information on here.
Yesterday, after a daily vigil, and also the increased knowledge gained by ''SEARCHING'' lol I finally brought home my new (well 2000 W) 95 colorado 3.0TD Automatic
There are some nice ones out there, patience, and daily searches, are the way foreward.
I am really over the moon, have had all the Land Rover models over the years, yet this is I never thought it, but a different league.
Please forgive this blurb, I'm 52 and like a kid with a new toy..
I gotta tell you,the last owner must be applauded for his ability to spend on this vehicle..
Anyhow, what I ended up with
It's Lava Red over Satin silver
It's had 2 owners who fully serviced it by Toyota, up until June of this year, where the last owner put it into Toyota for a valet, and service before selling to the dealer.
It is unmarked and mint inside also, engine bay shines and is spotless, everything works.
In the last year, the last owner has fitted,
a new tow bar
refurbed alloys
new set cooper stt tyres
silicon hoses
massive side exit 3 inch stainless steel exhaust, sounds fantastic
New timing belt, tensioner and aux belts
2 inch lift all round, with drop links and poly bushes
Sony multi disc cd, blue tooth, usb stereo
And also, he had the dreaded water in the gearbox,
so in February this year,he had Toyota investigate the problem, whereby,Toyota pulled out the auto gearbox, and replaced with a brand new one at a cost of 3500 quid, also new, radiator, thermostat, hoses, and a seperate atf oil cooler, all still under warranty.
2 brand new Yuasa batteries
new glow plugs,
and to top it off he decided to have the transfer box stripped, while they were at it and had some new parts and selectors fitted, at a specialist, who Toyota had it done with.
I am gob smacked that anyone would spend this type of money, on this age of car.
The dealer said the guy was local, a perfectionist, part exed the car because, he wanted a smaller car, and upon buying a different brand of car, immediately booked it in with main dealer, for valet, service and a check over type thing.
Sorry for the ramble but I am to say the least excited.
Sending off for an engine temp and alarm management sensor, and booking in for limo tint to back windows

:text-woo:Sounds absolutely perfect. Get a few more posts in HB and we'll be able to see some pics of it. :banana-gotpics:

Well done - sounds like you bagged a good'un.

Look forward to seeing some pics, otherwise it's all in your imagination!

Ha, no imagination, been out photographing tonight, got to do a few more worthwhile posts apparently then figure out how to get them on here.
My wife who is south of five foot tall, shall we say, petit, has confiscated it for tomorrow, standing by the side of it, it either makes her look tiny, or she makes it look massive, she is off to do a half marathon race in Brecon, in the morning.
I am worried on two points now though..
1. My darling wife has taken a shine to it.
2. After telling you all how good it is, something goes wrong and I have to as for help.

Nice to see a story with a happy (er) beginning HB

Don't worry about 2. (above) there's plenty of help to be had on this forum, but 1. (above) is a bit worrying...:? :eusa-naughty:

Maybe a 6" lift and some bigger diameter wheels/tyres will mean she can't reach the step-up, then you'll be safe!

Enjoy (both of you)

Just remove the running boards .

It works for me, but my wife has a bad back and an artificial knee. One of today's jobs is to replace the N/S running board on the '95' so that she can get into it :icon-rolleyes:.

The truck sounds great, I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures .

Regarding posting them . . I use 'Photobucket', transfer pictures to them, then copy the link from Photobucket and paste it into the text as an 'inserted image' (look at the icons along the top of the new message panel).

Bob.

Regarding posting them ... Alternatively, you can click the picture icon, select from computer and browse to the pic you want, select, then click upload...

Works for PC, or iPad...

nah, just do some post whoring!!

Heart stop moment, Sunday morning, other half had taken it out on Saturday, to running club.
I know she would have ''monitored it '' as you do with new vehicles, she would have just got in and
drove for the hills..
First thing Sunday morning 7.30am I went out for a casual look over, and on the floor, pink coolant. Shi... ho dear, I exclaimed..
Examination and close inspection, led me to believe that the cause was an overly full expansion resevoir which was full to the brim.
I took to the road until up to temps. and then drove it up Caerphilly mountain, quiet steep,no overheating, bubbling, boiling, or other, just more pink coolant.
I have managed to syphon off nearly 750m it's now between full mark and brim, and no more leakage, is this ok here, or should I take it to the full level.
