Hi all,

The timing belt light came on the other day. It came on at about the time we hit 150k km's although I wasn't watching so I am assuming rather than knowing it came on at exactly 150k km.

I believe it comes on every 150k km's, but just wanted to check there isn't some sort of sensor on the belt that detects if it is loosening or something???

Timing belt was changed about 20k km ago.

Thanks all

N

If it's like other Cruisers, there's effectively a tab on the odometer 'cog' that trips the light. To reset some, you take a screw out of one hole and putit back into another. It's very basic and not connected to the real world at all. As long as you know you changed it, then you'll be fine.

@nick_the_fish I had that too. Exactly at 150k the light came on. Although the first 121k had been in KM not miles.

Reset is fiddling with the trip button/stick while faffing with ignition...

Thanks guys. I thought so but thought it was worth checking.

In case it helps other members in the future, the reset on the 100 and 105 is :

push the odometer stick and turn on the vehicle, count to 5 while pushing the stick

let go

push and hold the stick for 5 seconds

let go

push and hold the stick for 5 seconds

Timing belt light should go off.
