Trailer Tents

Hi Tiaan and Julian
The new Desert Wolf trailers have an even better tent than the one on mine.
Hennie, had already incorporated all of the possible improvements into the
trailer when I looked at the new models.
If I was going to build a trailer, I would design it so that the top board
was the same height and size as a Desert Wolf trailer, and I would then
contact Hennie and just import a ready made Desert Wolf tent - actually made
by Creative Canvas...
If I was going to build a chassis, I would copy the dimensions of a Desert
Wolf. The reason I say this is because some trailers can wobble at certain
speeds, and there is an element of physics involved in creating a stable
trailer. I can safely say that my Desert Wolf is stable between 0 - 140kmh,
loaded (1.8T) or unloaded (350kg).
Hope this helps.

Hi Graham,
I had been planning on buying in the tent anyway - the idea of trying to
design and get one made that would work has been doing my head in.
Having said that I met a trailer manufacturer at a show last year that
I'm talking to about possibly becoming a dealer so I might get a deal on
a demo model :).
Either way I need to get the next couple of months out of the way first.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi all,
Just out of interest, anyone seen the Tvan:

Way cool product, also very very expensive, there's a guy in France
who imports them, they cost well over Euro 20K
Cheers,

Chris at Boab has some camper trailers in at the moment. They might be worth
looking at.

Seem nice construction, do look heavy, couldn't see any weights on the pdf,
just ratings for the suspension?
Rough idea of price range, not looking at the moment but perhaps in the
future so I don't really want to bother them for prices.
