1997 Prado 3L turbo deisel (automatic) + mods
I limped home before Christmas with strange clunking on full lock at
low speeds. I stripped the transfer box, found a shattered bearing
and stretched drive chain, replaced and reassembled. Also changed all
oils in axles boxes etc. It is 95% better and drives fine.
However, there are still some very minor and dull clunks on the
pickup but only intermittently. It seems to be worse when the engine
and running gear is hot ie after about half and hours driving.
Has anyone else had similar problems. I would love to know before
removing and stripping the automatic gearbox.
