Just wondering how many Troopy owners there are out there? The question arises after speaking to Roy, from 4x4Obsession.co.uk , at the Scottish Landrover Show at the weekend. He brought up the idea of a Troopy camping weekend but neither of us knew how many there are out there and who may be interested.

Would be good to get together round a fire sometime so anyone interested pipe up :)

Not many Vince.
Stan from th over lander now has one.
It would be a better meet if you include 80s ;)

I have a Troopy...... but it's in Australia. It's currently getting the rear fitted out at Drifta.

My hilux has a Toyota badge on front, does that allow invitation :)

They'll do a great job from what I've seen on their videos. Love the way they build the kitchens that slide out and can also free stand.

If you pass by Switzerland for a little mountain ride and camp, I will join with my Troopy :sunglasses:

PS : Where do you EU owners get your Troopy specific accessories ?

Hi Gregol...good to hear from you. I'll be passing through Switzerland next year sometime on the way to Italy...not got down to exact plans and dates yet though.

As for parts I've had some from http://toms-fahrzeugtechnik.eu/ and there's also http://www.euro4x4parts.com/toyota_parts/landcruiser_series_70 but not used them yet. I've only had Tilley, the troopy, since November. There's some jobs to do but using her as she is this year until I know whats best to change/add/alter. www.LifeOfTilley.com

Hello Vince,

Nice Troopy!
I also got mine the end of last year, but it's more of a blank canvas compared to yours. I want to have an Hercules roof by Alu-Cab installed, but I need the money first :p

What's your roof rack brand and model? And you rear bumper?

Are you happy with the design of your interior?

When you pass by and if I am here, we could try the Swiss army Alps roads, supposedly the best around here and it's on the way to Italy. (Switzerland is pretty hard for overlanding, every interesting offroad areas are "forbidden" so you have to be in a certain disobedience to have some fun here.)

I found those guys :
https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/be/

And of course the garage where I got my little Troopydelic :

PS : Going to the all famous overlanding fair in two weeks?

Gregory, I was going to message you direct but seems i'm still a new user with less than 20 posts so can't. Do you have an email address or are you on facebook to connect?

Hello
Nice truck Vince, where did you get it?
Just had a look at your website as well.
I get 19mog without roofrack so yorus is doing ok!
Just fitted a roofrack and alu cab tent so i think it will go down now.
I can get spares or accessories if required, but gregols links are good and i know the guys at Banditoy where he got his. My hj47 troopy came from just up the road from them.
Ill get some pictures put up sometime.
If you want a camping meet up then the lincomb do's are great, a bit of a trek but there has been talk of a northern meet.. ill have to try and get my act together and sort something in the lakes perhaps?
Cheers

Hi Stan, We've spoken a couple of times at the Overland Show over the years...was admiring the 78's last Sept. It just happened that this troopy came back up for sale in Nov after a previous sale had fallen through…the guy who owned it was down Peterborough.

I’m assuming you got and fitted the Alucab roof yourself? Will be good to see it in Sept at the show if you have it there.

Yes a camp up in the Lakes would be good at some point...I’m sure there will be a few who’d be up for it too but as usual dates won’t suit everyone.
