Yes I know this usbject rears it's head every six months or so....so here goes again.
I disconnected both batteries on my 100 series. Upon reconnecting, there was some "beeps" from somehwere under the bonnet (sounding like warning beeps) which soon stopped.
The problem now is that the starter motor does not now spin so fast.
Suspect that this is because it's only operating on 12 volts (rather than 24 v).
I'm guessing that this may be due to the relay that kicks in upon starting to provide the starter motor with 24 volts ?
Everything else works fine.
Info required:
1. Where is the relay that switches 12v / 24v located on 100 series (4.2 Diesel) ?
2. Is there a proceedure for disconnecting and re-connecting the two batteries ? (and avoiding this problem in future)
Neither the owners handbook or my Ellery workshop manual mentions this BTW: The Ellery manual is not worth
buying, IMHO. My apologies, in advance, if this subject has been done to death in past posts
Cheers
